There are two ways to connect a domain to your hosting: change the nameservers (so TekLan manages all DNS for the domain) or add an A record at your current registrar (if you want to keep DNS elsewhere). Both work — choose based on where you manage your DNS.
Point the domain to our nameservers. You do this wherever the domain is registered.
Our nameservers are:
ns29.teklanhosting.co.uk
ns30.teklanhosting.co.uk
ns31.teklanhosting.co.uk
ns32.teklanhosting.co.uk
Log in to your registrar's control panel and update the nameservers there. The exact location varies by registrar but is usually under DNS Settings or Domain Management. Enter the four nameservers above and save.
Once nameservers propagate (up to 48 hours, usually much faster) DNS is managed from your hosting control panel.
If you want to keep DNS at your current registrar (for example, you have email or other services on the same domain), just add an A record pointing to your TekLan IP address.
@ (root domain) with your TekLan IP.www pointing to the same IP (or a CNAME for www pointing to the root domain).DNS alone is not enough — you also need to add the domain inside Enhance so the server knows to respond to it.
Enhance will also provision a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate automatically — no extra steps needed.
Propagation: DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to be visible everywhere. Use dnschecker.org to check propagation status in real time.
