VirtFusion includes a backup feature that captures the state of your VPS so you can restore it if something goes wrong. Backups are taken from the Backups section of your server in VirtFusion.
Backups are not a substitute for regular off-server copies of your data. A backup stored on the same infrastructure as the server could be affected by the same hardware failure. For important data, also keep copies in a separate location.
The server remains available while the backup runs, though there may be a brief period of slightly elevated disk I/O.
Restoring overwrites everything. Any changes made after the backup was taken will be lost. The server is rolled back to the state it was in when the backup was created.
Backups consume storage. Delete ones you no longer need to free up space. Go to Backups, find the entry, and click Delete.
Backup functionality depends on your VPS plan. If you do not see the Backups section in VirtFusion, your current plan may not include it. Contact support to check whether it can be enabled or whether an upgrade is required.
